Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), as amended.
Substances that may have serious and often irreversible effects on human health and the environment are designated under the REACH Regulation as Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC). In accordance with Article 33 of the REACH Regulation, manufacturers, importers and other suppliers are obliged to provide sufficient information if products contain SVHC substances in concentrations higher than 0.1 % weight by weight (w/w), and, if necessary, provide instructions for safe use.
Under Article 9(1)(i) of Directive 2008/98/EC on waste, as amended, suppliers placing products containing SVHC substances in concentrations above 0.1 % (w/w) on the EU market are required to submit a notification to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) through the SCIP database.
Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS), as amended.
The RoHS Directive establishes the legal framework for limiting the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). Its aim is to ensure the protection of human health and the environment by gradually replacing hazardous chemical substances with safer alternatives. The Directive defines the maximum allowable concentrations of selected substances in homogeneous materials and requires manufacturers, importers and distributors of EEE to ensure that their products meet these limits: lead (Pb) 0.1 %, mercury (Hg) 0.1 %, cadmium (Cd) 0.01 %, hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) 0.1 %, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) 0.1 %, polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) 0.1 %, di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) 0.1 %, butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP) 0.1 %, dibutyl phthalate (DBP) 0.1 % and diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) 0.1 %.
Compliance of delivered products with the requirements of the REACH Regulation, SCIP notification obligations and the RoHS Directive is based on declarations and technical documentation provided by our suppliers/manufacturers. Marpos s.r.o. regularly takes steps to verify this information; however, due to the nature of the supply chain, it is not always in possession of complete information regarding the chemical composition of products. Complete and detailed data may be provided upon request, to the extent in which it has been provided by our suppliers.
